Other Details to Note

Cautionary Notes (Please Read)! We do NOT accept check-in or check-out on holidays. Absolutely NO open fires are allowed. The risk of wildfire in the area is too high. You will be asked to leave immediately if there is any fire activity. The roads require 4WD for November through April (however it can snow in October and in May!). The roads are plowed after 6 inches of snow. You do not need a 4WD or AWD in the summer but be aware that the dirt roads in the neighborhood are bumpy! Pets This is a pet-friendly listing for pets who qualify. At this time, we only allow dogs in this house. Please message us before booking for our pup policy to see if your dogs qualify. There is an additional fee for bringing a pet to cover the cleaners’ extra time to keep the space fresh for future guests. There is no air conditioning unit here. It is very rare in our county to have one installed in a house (even brand-new builds!).. The nights are cool in the summer, so to cool the house off, you can open all the windows at night, then close them during the day, and you stay cool! Fans are provided to help blow the cool air through the cabin. We are at 9,400 feet in elevation — altitude sickness can occur but you can do things to prevent it and alleviate symptoms including, taking a day to rest when you arrive, drink extra water and stay well hydrated (avoiding alcohol will help).

Loved the non toxic kitchen dishes, the beds were superior to any hotel and the land surrounding was absolutely magnificent!! I loved the home journal, and being able to read thru the years of guests that made lasting memories within the same space!! A plus, 10 out of 10!! Wayward Lodge does not dissapoint!!

Highly recommend this secluded oasis! Incredibly beautiful in the fall with the aspens and stars at nighttime in the hot tub. Very peaceful and relaxing. It had everything you could possibly need from hot tub sandals and towels, snacks and coffee, and extra toiletries if needed. Beds were firm but comfortable. Perfect weekend away with my parents visiting from out of state.

The cabin was everything we looked for and more. To be in the woods and secluded gave us the peace and tranquility we were looking for. I loved all the little personal touches that Marlena included such as the suggestion board, the pet box, the welcome snacks, everything was wonderful and we've even talked about this being our yearly go to.

The house matches the description. It’s remote and the surroundings are beautiful. Several amenities are available here in case you need which is good due to how remote it is. Very cozy, clean and our host was responsive and helpful. I would return and/or recommend to a friend!

We had a great time. The place was very clean and well maintained. They had a lot of little extras that we ended up using. We will definitely be staying again.
