Other Details to Note

Cautionary Notes (Please Read)! We do NOT accept check-in or check-out on holidays. Absolutely NO open fires are allowed. The risk of wildfire in the area is too high. You will be asked to leave immediately if there is any fire activity. The roads require 4WD for November through April (however it can snow in October and in May!). The roads are plowed after 6 inches of snow. You do not need a 4WD or AWD in the summer but be aware that the dirt roads in the neighborhood are bumpy! Pets This is a pet-friendly listing for pets who qualify. At this time, we only allow dogs in this house. Please message us before booking for our pup policy to see if your dogs qualify. There is an additional fee for bringing a pet to cover the cleaners’ extra time to keep the space fresh for future guests. There is no air conditioning unit here. It is very rare in our county to have one installed in a house (even brand-new builds!).. The nights are cool in the summer, so to cool the house off, you can open all the windows at night, then close them during the day, and you stay cool! Fans are provided to help blow the cool air through the cabin. We are at 9,400 feet in elevation — altitude sickness can occur but you can do things to prevent it and alleviate symptoms including, taking a day to rest when you arrive, drink extra water and stay well hydrated (avoiding alcohol will help).

The place was very nice and the Hot tub was very relaxing and CLEAN. Not like some of them. It was close to a lot of attractions , beds were comfortable and the house is great just like the pictures. we'll definitely stay there again.

One of the best Airbnb‘s we stayed at. The host was great to deal with and she checked in on us a couple times throughout the week. We do have a couple recommendations if you do stay here. The coffee cottage was awesome. They have a wide variety of different types of coffees and their breakfast was phenomenal. Russes place is really good if you’re looking for more of a bar feel and Mcginty’s if you are looking for more of a casual dinning restaurant, but they also do have a nice bar. Don’t waste your time with AJ‘s pizza. The dining area was super dirty. Definitely take the drive to the great divide. It is one of the most scenic views you will ever see.

Omgosh, don’t know where to begin. My family really needed an escape from the city. The cabin was the PERFECT choice. Tucked away from city life we were able to engulf in the stars, fresh air and nature. We were able to re-ground ourselves and our mental health. The cabin had everything we could need. I wish we never had to leave. I highly recommend the cabin and everything it has to offer! We will book again!

This place was just what we needed! Very clean home, and great amenities! Host is very accommodating and accessible. The lodge is in a great location for privacy and disconnecting from the city! Still, the lodge is just a short drive from many attractions. It was our first time in Colorado, and I’m convinced this was the best home we could have picked to stay. Will be looking into coming back for our next vacation, thank you!

The highlights of our experience at the Wayward Lodge include the hot tub, the wood pellet fireplace, the extremely comfortable king mattress, and the well-equipped kitchen. There is a trailhead off 511 just east of the property, and we loved the forest hike. I cannot recommend Russ's Place (in Divide) for lunch, dinner, drinks. We went twice, and the specialty old fashioned, burgers, and Reuben were all terrific.

First time going to Colorado with my Fiancé. After searching Airbnb we found the wayward lodge. It’s out on its own, but it’s easy to drive to. The surroundings are so beautiful, pictures don’t do it justice. Lots of space, comfy beds, and a relaxing hot tub. What more could you ask for? What was even more impressive was the little details. Yes the place was clean but there was a binder, and a chalkboard of places and stuff to do. She even left us a little welcome card. Provided a few snacks, hot chocolate bar. There was even a map where you can put a sticker on where you’re from. Wayward Lodge was beautiful, and a perfect home for the perfect vacation.
