Other Details to Note

Wildfire Danger: No outdoor fires are allowed – the risk of wildfire in the area is too high. We must do our part to preserve the forest and protect the homes of year-round residents in our neighborhood. Pets: Our dogs are our family, and they need a vacation too! Of our $100 pet fee, $50 goes to our cleaner to ensure that the next guest can have a hair-free, mess-free stay, and $50 is banked for pet-related damage/repairs to the property. We’ll provide your pup(s) with a towel and a throw blanket – please use these to help protect the furniture. Holidays: We do not accept check-in or check-out on holidays. Travel: The roads require AWD or 4WD for November through April (though it can snow in October and in May!) The roads are plowed after 6 inches of snow. The dirt roads past Florissant leading to our neighborhood will be very bumpy year-round! Altitude: Our elevation is 8,900 feet – to help prevent altitude sickness, stay well-hydrated! The tap water is delicious and safe to drink. Please consider wearing sunscreen even when it appears cool or cloudy. Weather/Cancellations: We cannot predict or control weather, so we don't offer refunds due to inclement weather. Please keep this in mind when booking, and if this is a concern we recommend purchasing travel insurance (Airbnb provides this option while booking your stay). Other Notes: The cabin is not air conditioned, but thankfully you are in the Rocky Mountains! In the summer, you’ll cool the cabin by opening the windows and turning on the ceiling fan in the evening! We provide portable fans to circulate air throughout the cabin. When outdoors, please be mindful of your noise – other homes are sprinkled throughout the woods, and we strive to be courteous neighbors. This house is in a neighborhood. While it feels secluded there are neighbors around, please be mindful on your noise.

We had such a magical time here. From the moment we arrived, it felt like we stepped into a snowglobe soft snow, quiet mornings, and everything just slowed down in the best way. Even on the cold days, the light made everything feel like golden hour, and it honestly never got old. Our kids didn’t want to leave they just wanted to keep exploring and adventuring around the property. It gave them space to be free and curious, which meant everything to us. For me and my husband, it was the kind of peace you don’t realize you need until you’re in it… being part of nature instead of the noise. Even the simplest moments felt special here. It’s one of those places that stays with you. We left feeling full, but definitely a little heartbroken to go. We truly hope to come back again when we can.

The cabin was wonderful! My fiancé and I had a fantastic time for her birthday this past weekend. This cabin provides amazing views and a comfortable cabin that makes you feel right at home. I’ll definitely be back! (Keep in mind the roads are a little bumpy!)

The Sunflower Cabin is an absolute treat to stay at! The place itself is clean, cozy, well stocked, and full of thoughtful touches! We loved having local coffee beans for our morning coffee. The hot tub is incredible!! You can spend your nights in the tub looking at the stars. Marlena is also sweet enough to provide hot tub towels, robes, and slides. The views at the cabin are wonderful and we loved sitting out on the bench or the picnic table for our scenic breakfasts. We had a couple questions and Marlena was always quick to answer and so friendly! Would absolutely stay here again! Side note about the area: There’s a great little market (Florissant Mercantile) about 20 minutes away that is surprisingly well stocked (we’re vegetarian and found MorningStar products, plus fresh veggies).

The Sunflower cabin was everything we could have hoped for and more! Our host Marlena was very kind and assuring we had all our needs met. Instructions for navigation and rules of the home were clear and easy to follow. Definitely an escape from reality.

This was the perfect cabin weekend - me, my boyfriend, and our two pups never even left the property. The views are stunning. The cabin is so cozy and welcoming. The host has many little touches that make the stay special from pet welcome baskets to spare toiletries. We especially enjoyed the full kitchen, the hot tub, walks around the property in the snow (lots of space for the dogs to run), and the wood burning fireplace. Overall a 10/10 stay and I would definitely recommend it to anyone!
